I just go over Hasbro's (shitty) paint jobs with primer and paint-- the factory applications are too difficult to remove by hand, so you'd probably have to go in with some kind of solvent, and who knows how that would effect your figure.

Also, I forgot to mention some good primers:

    -Pactra Prep
    -Krylon sandable (white, grey, etc.)
    -Citadel

These should all be available at hobby/gaming stores. I've actually seen Krylon primers at Wal-Mart, too.

I have a good number of Citadel paints from various things, so I'm set as far as that goes.

Where can I get Joes for decent prices? I read something on joecustoms about a dollar store having them. What major retailer has the best prices? (or are they the same?)

check the Funskool section. India version of GI Joe. all under $4. the colours can be kinda wacky, but if you plan to repaint them anyway...

    It really depends.

I usually buy Joes at my local Target, since it's A LOT closer to my place than Wal-Mart, which're always in BFE.

Wal-Mart's stuff is always cheaper, but the stores by me usually have a very limited selection. It varies from store to store and region to region.

I've heard of dollar stores carrying Joes, but have personally never seen 'em. Then again, Miami dollar stores are, in local slang, "Ghetto as fuck."

If you have a CVS Pharmacy by you, check 'em for single-carded Joes and also keep in mind that McDonald's will be carrying Joes in their Happy Meals soon as a promotion. Probably won't be able to use the whole figure, but you can harvest parts.

Looks like I'll be doing a bit of hunting to see what the Joe scene is like around here.

KB didn't have that great of deals and CVS and Family Dollar didn't have any

Here's another question-- Would parts from older Joes not fit well with the newer ones? Or are they pretty much the same?
